Why Should You Backup Your Wii Discs?
There are a million reasons for you to learn how to copy wii games. In this paper, we’ll talk about a few of them.
Reason number one is that game discs are pricey! When you pay over $50 for a single game disc, you don’t wish to lose it or have it become damaged. As an avid gamer, you’ve most likely been through this, and have had to look at the prospect of paying another $50 or more for the exact same game. When you study how to copy wii games, you will be protecting your wallet, so that you don’t go broke replacing your precious
On a related note, games are not only expensive – they’re also very fragile. I mean look at them! They come on CDs or DVDs that are only a millimeter thick and will become unusable if they get even one scratch on them. Back when I was growing up, games came on sturdy cartridges (think NES era). Those cartridges were impervious to damage. You could throw them out your 2nd story window, and they’d still be playable. It’s definitely not the case with modern games. If you’re on the fence about whether you need to make copies of your games, keep that thought in the back of your mind. Compared with dropping a cartridge game out a window, you can’t even drop a Wii game on the floor without risking damage. But if you have a backup, it doesn’t matter if the game becomes unplayable.
The final great reason to burn Wii discs is so that the master doesn’t become misplaced. I have lended games to friends tons of times, only to have the guy never return them. Also, I’ve had discs just wind up unlocatable in my house, and then they’re gone for good. Nowadays, since I started making backups of my precious games, and stowing the original copy away for secure storage, It doesn’t bother me if my friends never bring back my games. As a matter of fact, I just create a new disc to allow them take!
If you’re reading this article, you’ve probably already tried making copies of your Wii games by just burning a copy the same way that you’d burn an MP3. That’s the first thing that most people try! But if you have tried this, and then tried to play the game, you’ll know that it doesn’t work. You just get a disc error when you insert it into the Wii. This is because the game manufacturing companies put encryption on the game discs to expressly prevent you from making copies – even though the fair use act of 2010 in the US made it legal to copy games.
So if you can’t burn a disc the way that we burn MP3′s, how in the heck DO you copy Wii games? Well, I’ll break it down for you. The secret is in using special game copy software that you can find right through Google (just type in “how to copy Wii games and you’ll find it). You pay for the software, download it, install it on your PC, and run it just like you would run any Windows or Mac program. The program will pop up with a wizard that will walk you through ripping your Wii game, breaking the encryption automatically, and then burning a fresh copy onto a blank disc. And voila! You’ll have yourself a shiny new copy of your favorite game!
So if there’s any lesson that you take away from this article, just remember to keep your master discs safe and never play them. If you make copies, and only play the copies, you’ll save tons of money over the long run.
That’s it for this edition – Stay safe out there!
