Why I Just Love Retro Gaming

Retro games is something that I have only recently started playing and it really has been one of my better decisions I have to tell you. Some of the games from the past are really amazing to play because there is just something so charming about them that you don’t get with games today. I cannot deny that the audio and graphics of today’s games really are far superior but I also feel that there is a lot more to gaming than this.

Years ago, games were all about the game play as opposed to the graphics and you really can see this with some of these retro games. The fact that I played many of these games when I was a kid means that they bring back a lot of great memories; that is another reason why I love playing them.

At the moment my favourite game to play from when I was younger is Alex Kidd in Miracle World. What a great game this still is. Once you get back used to the simpler graphics it is impossible to not get sucked right into the game play. I am projected back to when I was a teenager every time I play this game because that is how old I was when I first began playing this game.

Gaming memories seem to be far more intense than the memories I get when listening to old records so it is better for me. And even though it has been more than twenty years since I have played these games, I can still remember how to get past certain tricky parts of the game.

I have not even had to shell out any money to get enjoyment from these retro games. Luckily I had just put my old console away in my parents attic and when I got it down, it still worked which was great.

I also found enough games to keep me entertained again for a couple of years. If I were to sell my old console I could probably make a bit of money on it now, but I doubt I will.
