The Need To Encourage Children To Do Extracurricular Activities

Children must always be encouraged to take part in activities apart from their academic lives or after school hours. Many such activities can be explored for your child based on your child’s interest and liking.

There are many fun activities your kids can choose from like painting/art, culture and community development, literary clubs, theatre, student union, radio, environmental, nature and conservation clubs, music groups, sports, pottery and much more. It’s best to let your child decide what he/she is interested in and has a liking for.

Although many parents may disagree with having to involve their child in extracurricular activities because they believe that their child has enough development going on at school, it is not wise to discourage your child from taking part in after school activities.

As children grow up, they require a positive channel to divert their energy and keep them busy after school. All kids must definitely be encouraged to be more involved with after school work unless their too young and need to rest.

It may not be necessary for much younger children to get involved in after school activities as just allowing them play around the house for a while would be sufficient. They can go straight to bed soon after their dinner.

After school activities are a great idea for kids, as they would soon get bored and do things that would get into them in soup.

Extra-curricular activities also benefit the child’s physical development. It is critical for them go out and play with other kids after school hours to keep fit mentally and physically.

Parents must encourage children to involve themselves in after school activities, and with good reason. They will be helping their children grow, be more proactive, enjoy and prepare themselves for their next step in school.
