The King Of Puzzles: Greater Than Sudoku
Sudoku is one of the most amazing games to ever hit the world. Years ago Pacman absolutely revolutionized video games. Nobody thought that a puzzle game would make such an impact. Be it in newspapers, magazines, books or on the net. It is absolutely amazing how many millions play the game daily.
Although it is challenging enough to complete a regular version of the game, there are versions that are even more challenging. Greater Than Sudoku is one of these very challenging variations and turns it into a bit of a monster. In this variety of Sudoku you need to try and arrange the number according to the “greater than” symbols scattered throughout the board.
It might be getting a little confusing and I think I am getting ahead of myself slightly here. I think it would be best if we just slow things down a bit and first look at the standard version of Sudoku. The playing area is made up of a group of 9 blocks in a 3 x 3 square.
Inside each of the large nine blocks there are nine smaller blocks arranged in a 3 x 3 square. The idea of the game is simple. The execution however is not simple at all. Your goal is to place the numbers from 1 through 9 in the small 3 x 3 squares. You should also try to arrange them horizontally and vertically until each row is filled. The difficult part is to do all of this without once repeating a number either in the horizontal or vertical rows.
In Greater Than Sudoku the difference is that there are “greater than” signs between all of the smaller blocks. So the challenge just becomes so much greater and you would now need to arrange the numbers according to these symbols as well, while still avoiding repeating any numbers. The game is extremely challenging, but I think I do have a piece of advice that might help you a little when you play Greater Than Sudoku.
If you want to get better at Greater Than Sudoku, you simply need to play the regular version of Sudoku more. By playing the regular version you would get to understand the logic of the game a lot better. If you have a better understanding of this and can work through these ones easily, you would be able to navigate this new dimension a lot better.
You will need all the skills and luck you can get to solve the Greater Than Sudoku puzzle. It is definitely one of the most challenging Sudoku games you will ever play.
