Is PC Gaming Piracy Starting To Slowdown?

PC gaming piracy is definitely slowing down of late. It is not as easy to find illegal downloads as it once was and if the truth be told, there really does seem to be fewer people looking for these. There is quite a lot of debate about why this seems to be happening.

Some will claim that it is evidence that the war against intellectual piracy is turning and that the developers are now getting the upper hand. However there are many gaming experts who don’t agree with this reason and they have other reasons for the decline in PC gaming piracy.

Many of these experts feel that the main reason for the reduction in illegal game downloading is due to the fact that the games that have been released are simply not good enough for anyone to want to download them. The amount of good games released for the PC has really dropped of late and because of this, there is not much out there for people to illegally download.

If something exciting does get released then the PC gaming pirates will be out in force, but this isn’t happening as often as it used to. Most people who like to download illegal stuff will probably already have downloaded all the older games that they want and are just waiting for something new.

Other people have said that the reason for the drop in illegal downloading of PC games is because PC gaming itself is on the decline. This is an issue of much debate, but it really does seem that the reasons for sticking to this type of gaming are not worth talking about. When it comes to gaming, the other platforms are really just too good to compare with the PC.

So it would seem as though the reason for the fall in illegal PC gaming downloads is due to the fact that people just prefer playing games on other platforms because they can provide much better audio and graphics. If this is the real reason, then we will continue to see this reduction in PC gaming piracy.
