Information About Who Is Hannah Montana

Hannah Montana was released in 2006 by Disney Channel as a television series. It stars Miley Cyrus, as the lead character, MIley Stewart. Its story is about a famous celebrity, Hannah, who attends a regular high school and is recognized by her classmates as Miley Stewart. Her secret is kept safe by her dad/manager and best friend, Lilly, who also happens to have a secret identity as Lola.

The show stars Miley Cyrus as the lead character, along with her closest friends, Lilly Truscott and Oliver Oken. Lilly is portrayed by Emily Osment, while Oliver is portrayed by Mitchell Musso. Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus dad in real life, plays the manager and dad of the lead character. Jackson Stewart, Mileys brother, is portrayed by Jason Earles.

The plot is actually derived from one episode of another Disney hit, That is So Raven. In this episode, a famous TV star disguises as a normal kid and tries to attend a regular school. Cyrus initially auditioned for the part of Lilly, the best friend. Eventually, she was casted as the lead, beating other celebrities like Taylor Momsen, Jordan McCoy and JoJo.

The show has been recognized several times by well-known award giving bodies. They won 4 Emmy awards from 2007 to 2010 for Outstanding Childrens Program.

The ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards also gave the show the Top TV Series Award in 2008 and 2009. In 2008, it received the Young Artist Award for Best Family TV Series. It was also cited by the TCA in 2008 for Outstanding Achievement in Childrens Programming.

Miley Cyrus, the lead star, was presented a Gracie Allen Award in 2008 and 2009 for being an Outstanding Female Lead in a Comedy Series for Adolescent/Children. She was also nominated many times in the Teen Choice Awards and Kids Choice Awards as Favorite Television Actress in a Comedy Show.
