How to Rank Diamond in Starcraft 2

Starcraft 2 is a game of focus and speed. It is obviously more mental than it is physical. But you still need to be very fast in doing ten different things at once.

Most players start out in 1v1 as it is very different than playing on a team which may seem daunting. When you play with someone or a few people you all need to understand what you guys are doing. You can easily lose because your teammates are not that good. Or the other way around.

Lots of players, including pros, only play as one race. You should play with each race at least a few times so that you learn about what kind of enemy you are facing because you will face every race. I would not recommend facing the computer unless you only plan to face the computer.

Do not think that facing the computer will do better for you if you want to play other players. The reason is because the computer will never try to throw curve balls at you. All they do is produce as many units as they can depending on what difficulty you set them. Then they will attack and you can easily fend it off since you see it coming.

Players on the other hand will be more sneaky by rushing you with reapers or dropping units directly onto your mineral line. Stuff like this you need to learn how to fight against if you want to become a well rounded player. It is not hard after a while of dealing with this kind of stuff.

For example lets say you are protoss facing terran and your opponent is trying to reaper rush you. You send a probe over and see an early barracks with a tech lab working on units. So your best move would be to build a star gate and cybernetics core to get out an early stalker as they do well against reapers. You should keep him around your mineral line since that is what they want to go for to take out your economy.
