These are the kinds of games that require very little preparation in order to play them and can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
Below we have a look at what we consider are the more popular kinds of classic old school party games that people still enjoy playing today.
Game 1 – Hot Potato
To be able to play this game you need a small object such a stone, ball or a potato. This game can be played by as little as a group of 6 people or by a group consisting up to 30 people. Those who are playing the game need to sit on the floor in a circle and then one person who is chosen as the leader needs to stand in the middle of the circle. This person then closes their eyes and the others start to pass the object around the circle. The person in the middle then needs to call out “HOT”. As soon as they do then the person that has old of the object is out of the game. The game carries on until only one person is left and they will be crowned its winner. If you have a very large group of people playing then why not divide it up into to two games instead.
Game 2 – Charades
If you are looking for a game that isn’t only fun but can prove very exciting then this is the one for you. With this one you can again play it with between 10 and 30 people at a time. You first need to divide the people playing up into two groups and once this has been done the fun can begin. If you want you can ask those taking part to provide some film, TV show, book or music titles for inclusion in the game that when they act them out their team mates can guess. Otherwise you can be the one that decides on these and they draw them out of something. Of course the team that makes the most correct guesses once the game is completed are the winners.
Game 3 – Pass The Parcel
This is yet another very popular one of the classic old school party games that we played as kids and which our children still enjoy playing today. To play it is very simple you sit on the floor in a circle and to music you pass round a parcel that is normally wrapped in newspaper. Once the music stops the person who has hold of the parcel at the time is able to unwrap the parcel removing the first layer of paper and retrieving the gift from inside. Once they have done this and the music starts up once again and continues to be passed around and the music stopped until the final prize in the parcel is reached.
When it comes to playing this one of the classic old school party games with children make sure that who is ever in charge of the music ensures that every child gets a chance to unwrap the parcel. You don’t want to end up with unhappy children do you?
