Greater Than Sudoko: A Super-sized Challenge

If you haven’t heard of Sudoku before, let me be the first to welcome you to planet Earth. The game has exploded in popularity over the last decade word-wide and it had become a challenge that many enjoy.

Sudoku is a classic and challenging puzzle game that has its origins in the Far East. The regular version of the game is very challenging on its own, but a few spin-offs have been created to make it even more challenging. Greater Than Sudoku is one of these versions and is not easy to complete in any way.

What makes Greater Than Sudoku so difficult is that you need to arrange the numbers according to the “greater than” symbols placed between the blocks. If you have no clue what I am talking about, then I would like to just step back quickly to tell you a little about how to play Sudoku.

In Sudoku you will play on a playing area that consists of a 3 x 3 square that makes up 9 large blocks. Within each of the large block you will find a further 9 smaller blocks that are also arranged in a 3 x 3 square.

You need to arrange numbers from 1 to 9 in each of the smaller blocks to start with. Then you need to make sure that the numbers 1 to 9 are also arranged in all of the blocks horizontally and vertically. The problem is that you need to make sure that no one number ever repeats in one of the horizontal or vertical rows.

When you play Greater Than Sudoku you will see that a “greater than” symbol is added between the small blocks. The numbers you enter must then be in the right order so as not to repeat in any of the rows and should be greater than the adjacent numbers where necessary.

No matter what anyone tells you, there is no easy way to work through Greater Than Sudoku. It is extremely challenging and we only have one tip to give on getting better at it. To get better at Greater Than Sudoku, play more regular Sudoku. If you have a solid base built on a good knowledge of how to solve regular Sudoku puzzles, then you would able to confidently take on this challenge.
