Copying Wii Games: Here’s How You Do It!

I’ve been inundated lately with requests for a complete guide on how to copy Wii games. As a result, I’ve put together what follows for your perusing pleasure.

In prior years, (like the former half of the past decade), you had to void your warranty in order to play games that you had copied for your Wii. This was because the Wii wouldn’t play copied games without a mod chip. What the heck is a mod chip, you ask? A mod chip is a special device that you buy from Japan that you have to install on the interior of your Wii console. And in order to install it, you had to open your Wii and break the seal- which of necessity involves voiding the warranty.

Now, though, it’s possible to mod your games instead of modding the Wii itself – sweet, huh? This is because a piece of software was released in 2008 which will make a copy of the game that has all of the information that the Wii needs to see the game as an original, while removing the encryption!

But I’m rambling. Enough with the introduction. Here is the guide that you came for:

One:

Download the package from the distributor. Save it to an appropriate location on your computer. Click on it twice in rapid succession to start the install process.

STEP 2

Finish the setup process. If you haven’t double clicked it yet, do so now. Each time that it asks you to do so, hit “Next”. When you see something saying that you’ve finished, you can believe it – you’ll know that it’s done.

3:

Locate your CD or DVD burner on your computer device. Load your fave Wii game into this slot.

STEP 4

Find the location of the shortcut to the game copying software on your PC’s desktop. Click it twice in rapid succession.

5:

When you copy a music disc, you simply do a one to one copy. On the other hand, in this step, a big difference arises. For the process of copying a Wii game, it needs to be “ripped” before it can be copied. Find the spot in the program that you just launched where it says something like “extract”. Then, browse to the place where you want it to extract the file to. My personal preference is to place it on the desktop, since this easily locatable. Click “Start”.

6:

Ok, at this point, the extraction should have completed the correct way. If not, then go back to the second step. Push the button to eject the game disc from the CD burner. Remove the disc and put it away. Load up a blank disc (R+/- is preferable). Back in the game copy program, select “write” mode. When it prompts you, select the ISO file that went onto your desktop. Once again, click “Go”.

Seven:

Once it completes, the app may play some amusing music to show you it’s completed, and will state that it’s done. Excellent! Congratulations , you simply just remove the game, jot down a label on it with a sharpie pen, and you’re all set! Remember to put your master copy of your game in a safe place, and to be sure to play with your copied game!

Which means that you now needn’t be a computer hardware hacker or even void your warranty in order to back up games as is your legal right. Simply just follow these directions, and you’ll be set!
